Hola, soy Fernando. I’m from Costa Rica and have been a surf coach for 10 years. I have experience teaching in Costa Rica and California and have surfed in different places around the world. I’ve been surfing since I was 13 years old. It’s an addicting sport. First there’s surf, then life. It’s a lifestyle. It’s about disconnecting yourself from the world and playing with nature. It’s about learning more about your own mind and listening to what nature demands. It’s the best and nothing can compare. I feel free when surfing and hope you can too. I teach with passion and patience. I want to help you learn how to ride a wave so that you can enjoy the best place in the world: the ocean. And together we can learn all of the life lessons—both physical and mental—that she has to teach us.

Learn how to surf white waves independently! The Beginner Surf Lesson will help you to know what to do and feel safe in the water. This includes finding your sweet spot on the surfboard, learning basic techniques & postures, as well as learning how to paddle effectively and discovering the right timing to catch a wave. With these tools you’ll be able to catch your own white waves and progress your way to small green waves.
