In this lesson, we'll work on the basics of popping up on your board and paddling to catch a wave. We'll learn how to maneuver a board and safety tips so you feel comfortable with your board in the water. I'll also teach you about surf conditions and equipment so you understand all the basics of surfing. By the end of this lesson, you should be able to stand up on a board by yourself! We will go as far as you can with this lesson so I'm here to help push you so you don't have to paddle as hard. But if you want to paddle and pop up yourself, I'll be here to give you feedback. After the first few lessons once you get comfortable in the white water and truly understand how to control the board and adjust your stance, we can move to the green waves in an intermediate lesson.

Before this lesson, you should already know the basics of surfing. We'll do a refresh of whatever you did the last time you surfed, check your skills and see what you need to work on. So, we'll cover whatever you need, from paddling, catching the wave, pop up, making sure you have the right stance and adjusting your stance. We'll also learn how to do a turtle roll, how to turn, how to use the reels of the board, and more!

In a surf guiding session, I'll take you to a spot and we'll work on adjusting your skills. This lesson will be customized for you—I'll watch you surf and then give you feedback on your stance, timing, maneuvers, etc. I'll also teach you about the break we're surfing. I'm here to help you achieve what you're looking for!
